This past weekend the Golden Nordic Ski Club hosted the first Teck Kootenay Cup of the season which proved to be a snowy success! Thanks to fantastic early season grooming by our esteemed head groomer and a new Bombardier 275, the courses were immaculate for the free technique individual start race. Course distances ranged from 600m for Atoms to 7.5km for Open Men. The duration of the races were long enough to get the heart pumping but also short enough to allow for quick recoveries this early in the season. Fast technical descents and the ‘Super Charger Headwall’ climb proved difficult for those Open Men and Women having to do three punishing laps. In attendance were clubs from; Fernie, Invermere, Revelstoke and Golden.
