2022 FIS World Junior/U23 Championships
Lygna, Norway
February 22 – 27, 2022
February 20th
Our pre camp in Sjusjoen has come to a close. After everyone getting in some solid volume workouts on the endless beautiful trails and a good ol’ hard Time Trial, the team is feeling ready to hit the race site. After wrapping up the last day of our pre-camp we all packed our bags and left Sjusjoen.
We made it to our cabins in Lygna after a short hour drive, and a quick stop in Lillehammer for a Covid test! The trails here are of the highest quality and are just begging to be raced upon. The U23 women and men both have their own cabins as well as the junior men and women. The accommodation is incredibly nice and luxurious. We’re situated on a wintery hillside dotted with cabins as far as the eye can see. We are all very well fed as we have a personal chef cooking immaculate meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner—He is the star of the show.
Last night we attended the opening ceremonies in a small town called Brandbu. It was a lovely way to kick off the competition and see all of the other participating nations. The team is in excellent spirits and vibes are high as the first races draw near.
The junior athletes had race prep today while the older athletes had an easy recovery day.
Tuesday marks the start of the competition with the distance mass start race for junior men and women and we couldn’t be more excited to get the racing underway!
