The next Para-Nordic World Cup begins Monday, in Finsterau, Germany.
This is the big IPCNS World Cup of the year. All the nations will be there with lots of athletes so the competition will be good with the biggest fields of the year. The IPC World Championships will be taking place in Finsterau next year so it is a good opportunity to get some experience at the venue.

3 World Cup Team athletes and 1 Development Team athlete will be competing.

Also we are using this as an opportunity for some development athletes to get some WC experience. There will be 6 developing athletes attending. Three of the athletes are part of the CCC Para-Nordic Prospects Team. The Prospects Team is a small group of developing PN athletes with funding through a partnership with the Canadian Paralympic Committee as a part of a NextGen program for athletes with a disability. Three other developing athletes will be competing with the help of some direct funding from the CCC development program.

Lindsey McDonald (Nordic Racers, Vancouver, BC) – LW8 Standing (Prospects Team) - First WC race
Derek Zaplotinsky (Smokey Lake, AB) – LW11S Sitting (Prospects Team) –
Yves Bourque (Becancour, QC) – LW 11 Siting – has been racing at WC level for a few years and was a 2014 Paralympian.
Collin Cameron (Sudbury, ON) – LW 12 sitting – Came to us this year from sledge hockey. New to para-Nordic this year but has quickly developed.
Louis Fortin (Fredericton, NB) – LW 6Standing – has been racing at WC for a few year and was a 2014 Paralympian. He is renewing his efforts to try to make the 2018 Paralympic team.
